Rockwall, Texas (Feb 26, 2010) — The Rockwall Performance Yamaha team will field young racers J.D. Beach and Cameron Beaubier in AMA Pro SuperSport East during the 2010 season. The Texas-based team is excited to compete with two talented riders, both of which showed their promise in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in recent seasons. Beach, born in Everett, Washington, joined Rockwall Performance Yamaha mid-season in 2009 and finished second in SuperSport East points with three podium finishes on the team’s equipment. Originally a dirt track racer, J.D. won the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup championship. He is 18 years old. Beaubier, a Roseville, California native, returns to the US after several seasons racing in Europe. The 17 year-old raced in the highly competitive 125cc World Championship last season. Beaubier has also raced in the Red Bull Rookies Cup and the Spanish CEV championship in 2008 as well as attending the Red Bull MotoGP Academy. 1993 World Champion Kevin Schwantz will serve as the team’s riding coach. Schwantz previously worked with Cameron and J.D. during their time in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. Mark Foster is the team’s crewchief and James Compton is the team’s technical adviser. “We’re really looking forward to a fantastic season,” said Rockwall Performance’s Michael Worrell. “Cameron and J.D are both outstanding young racers and there’s nothing like working with some of the best talent in the paddock at the front end of their careers and hopefully helping them take the next steps to stardom. We feel our team, along with Kevin Schwantz, can help Cam and J.D. continue to develop and get positive results. Kevin cares so much about these two young racers. The team, thanks to the support of Top 1 Oils and Red Bull, intend on giving them everything they need to show what they can do in 2010.”
