WERA Motorcycle Roadracing, Inc. and M1GP understand the importance of mini road racing and are uniting efforts to shed light and educate people on the importance of motorcycle road racing at the mini level and how this sets a strong foundation for riders to go racing on full sized machines. The relationship will prove to be beneficial to riders in each association as they will get a 50% discount on the license fee for each others events. Also, since both clubs use the AMB MYLAPS timing system with the TranX260 transponders so those racing in either club will find easy compatibility. As racers gain experience on the small technical tracks used by M1GP racers, i.e. Willow Springs Kart Track and Grange Motor Circuit) they can gain experience to deal with the larger, high speed circuits used by WERA Motorcycle Roadracing. “M1GP is proud of our association with WERA, with their long history and compatible values, goals (and rules). We will have a presence at as many Pirelli/WERA West Sportsman races presented by Lucas Oil as possible and will make efforts to build career racers to seamlessly enter WERA Motorcycle Roadracing and also offer WERA Motorcycle Roadracing riders the opportunity to race on very tight and technical courses with M1GP. We are excited to build this relationship to benefit the racers and the sport as a whole,” said Young Lee Race Director at M1GP. “WERA Motorcycle Roadracing has always tried to provide the means for a young rider to live and achieve their dream. WERA tries to have a class for everyone and we run our Mini program at the tracks where feasible and we look forward to having a relationship with M1GP to further the education of motorcycle road racing starting at the entry level and moving on to a Sportsman Series and then a Pro-Am National Series for any young rider who is interested, ” said Evelyne Clarke, President of WERA Motorcycle Roadracing, Inc.
