Gainesville, Georgia – Ryan Clay, 21 years-old and Matt McCutcheon, 26 years old are planning for a busy year during the 2010 race season. The racers are planning on a full schedule of several WERA Pirelli Sportsman series rounds along with select AMA Daytona Sportbike, and Top Gun Supersport rounds aboard their Dahlonega Athletic Center/Clay’s Motorsports sponsored Yamaha YZF R6’s. Clay and McCutcheon met late last year through a strange series of coincidences. While practicing starts before his very first racing season even began, Matt met Ryan’s brother Russell Clay, a former racer, who later that year introduced the two future teammates. McCutcheon said “It’s funny how things work out! A year ago I was nervous about my very first race not knowing up from down. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason and there is no doubt in my mind that this is one of those incidences.” Clay is a promising young racer who has deep roots throughout the Club racing and AMA pro racing scene. His accolades includes being a multi-time, AMA Supersport, top-ten finisher. Clay is a former USGPR star and 125cc WERA National Champion. Clay in his early days of racing piloted his Team Rocky Stargel Aprillia 125 to countless victories and podiums. He then moved up to middleweight aboard a Yamaha YZF R6. When asked about the upcoming season Clay said “It’s great to just be racing! This is going to be a great year. I’m excited about the chance I have to really showcase our sponsors at various events on different levels. This year is going to be different for sure. I’m excited about working with Matt. It’s going to be fun showing him different things and watching him develop as the year progresses. Our goal this year is simple”¦ have fun racing!” Clay brings the sure hands and vast knowledge of Clay’s Motorsports as primary support for the upcoming season. McCutcheon is coming off his first season. As a Novice in WERA McCutcheon was very consistent. Placing in the top 5 overall in three different divisions. McCutcheon spoke about his background “This is all new to me! If someone told me 2 years ago I would be riding a motorcycle, much less racing one, I would have told that person he was crazy. I guess I have one good thing going for me and that is, I’m a clean slate and I don’t have many bad habits to break. I approach each race, lap, and corner with the mindset that I will learn something each time I put my leg over the bike. I am excited and thankful to be riding with a teammate that can show and teach me the right way to race competitively. I think with the help of Ryan I will reach a new pinnacle in my racing this year” McCutcheon brings along the full sponsorship of his gym the Dahlonega Athletic Center as primary sponsor of Clutch Racing. “Matt and I are really excited about things. We have a great support of sponsors and family that will no doubt make this one of the most rewarding seasons in which I have participated. We have been working since October preparing for this season and it’s finally here. A great deal of time and effort has been put forward in order to make this year a success! Matt and I are excited about the opportunity that has been given to us and are ready to introduce the race scene to Clutch Racing”, says Clay of the upcoming season. Clutch Racing’s team of sponsors include Dahlonega Athletic Center, Clay’s Motorsports, Graves Motorsports, Shift, EBC Brakes, Silkolene, Ohlins, GPR Stabilizers, CG Support, MotoCilino, Arai, Zero Gravity, Spyder Leatherworks, Dunlop, and Cycle Nation of Braselton
