Team Zyvax joins forces with Graves Motorsports to field the Yamaha YZFR1 in the heavyweight endurance class. This is a cooperative effort by both groups to field a second team. Building a strong endurance team with such potential has generated a lot of excitement. Running a heavyweight team in addition to the medium weight team will add depth to this program. “Working with Graves Motorsports has been a great and helpful experience,” says JB Layman, “Unlike sprint racing, endurance racing more heavily involves the crew in the overall outcome. It’s amazing to be part of such a team!” That very excitement attracted Graves Motorsports’ desire for deeper involvement in the program. “Working with JB Layman and the Zyvax team should be an exciting experience,” says Chuck Graves of Graves Motorsports, “After working out the details on the R6 program with JB the thought of running the R1 came about. As a result we struck up a deal to support the heavyweight endurance class.” Graves further expressed his excitement about watching all the 2010 WERA classes, especially the endurance classes. “Endurance racing is so intense,” muses Graves, “because every member of the team plays a critical role in the outcome of the race from the green flag to the checkered.” Graves went on to say that the WERA National Endurance Series is an excellent stage on which to seek out future road racing talent.
