Roadracingworld.com’s Chris Ulrich took his second Toyota Gold Cup Unlimited Formula One win in a row at the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC) 2010 season opener this weekend.

After winning at the last 2009 WSMC round in November, Ulrich took his Dunlop-shod Suzuki GSX-R1000 to the top step of the podium again with a 0.326-second win over two-time WSMC Overall Champion Karl Lowry’s Dunlop-shod, Graves Motorsports-backed Yamaha YZF-R1, with Reno Karimian and his Dunlop-shod GSX-R1000 in third.

Ulrich controlled the race from the front and turned his best lap time (a 1:22.100, fastest of the race) on the last lap of the 12-lap, 30-mile race, held in chilly temperatures and gusting winds. The last several races of the day were held in the rain.
