Earlier this week American Honda announced that details of its 2010 Red Rider Rewards contingency program would be available at www.hondaredriders.com after January 13, but a check of that website today revealed road racing contingency had only been posted for three classes of the USGPRU series and that no contingency had been posted in support of CBR model sportbikes. But more road racing contingency may be posted soon, according to a spokesman for the program. “We’re not done yet,” Keith Dowdle, Assistant Manager for the Honda Riders Club, told Roadracingworld.com Friday. Dowdle said Honda Red Riders announced the incomplete 2010 contingency program because the AMA Supercross season started January 9 and because they wanted to let USGPRU racers know that they were continuing to support that series, especially the Moriwaki MD250H Powered by Honda class. As far as supporting other road racing organizations, including AMA Pro Racing, with contingency in 2010, Dowdle said, “We are still evaluating our program for 2010, but we do plan to announce additions to the current program soon.” Dowdle said he hoped to announce additions to the road racing contingency program by late-February, before the AMA season-opening event at Daytona. The only other manufacturer besides Honda to announce its 2010 road racing contingency program so far is KTM North America.
