Reports are flying around the internet that Californian John Hopkins has signed a deal to race for Italy’s FB Corse, ending his one-year, involuntary hiatus from the MotoGP World Championship, but those reports are not accurate. Bob Moore, Hopkins’ manager, told Roadracingworld.com today that Hopkins has not signed a deal with FB Corse. Moore confirmed that Hopkins is talking with FB Corse about a MotoGP project, but Moore also said that Hopkins is considering several options for 2010, including racing an American Superbike in the AMA Pro Road Racing series. Hopkins, who was left without a ride when the Kawasaki MotoGP team shut down shortly before the start of the 2009 season, is vacationing with his wife’s family in England and could not be reached for comment.
