In 2010, the rider of San Marino, Alex de Angelis, will join the Scot Racing. He will tackle the track with a moto2 designed at 200 meters from his home, a little further upstream, where are the team headquarters. Everything establishing an explosive mix, bounded by a common denominator: belonging to the same territory. SAN MARINO The republic of San Marino is – with the Province of Rimini and Santamonica SPA – the promoter of the homonymous Grand Prix that, from 2007, take place at Misano circuit. The Scot Racing is the 2009 World Champion of the quarter-litre class and Alex de Angelis, one of the fastest rider. Everything to represent around the world the winning image, both motor and sport, of San Marino. The MotoGP World Championship is one of the few global sports, reaching about 5.6 billion people during all the year; a fine visiting card for the oldest Republic in the world that, thanks to this, further expand its international image. “I am very pleased we have reached this agreement – said Secretary of State for Tourism and Sport Fabio Berardi – Alex deserves important stages for what he has done until now, I do not hide my satisfaction at seeing him riding a “blue-white” bike, developed and designed in our territory by a Sammarinese. This winning combination increase the value of our republic and gives a more complete sense to our Grand Prix. A sincere good luck to Alex, Cirano Mularoni and all the Team Scot for this new adventure”. ALEX DE ANGELIS The twenty-five year old (26/2/84) rider was coming from two seasons in MotoGP and from his first podium in this class. Now he will continue his worldwide adventure in Moto2 with the Scot Racing: “I am happy to collaborate on a project where I am the standard-bearer of my nation. As well, in a sense, I could define the Scot Racing Team as my home team: I know everyone for years and some of them drink their coffee in my own bar! They won two World Championship Title and now we are working together to build a winning project in 2010, a prelude to my return to MotoGP the following year”. TEAM The Scot racing Team manager, Cirano Mularoni : “It’s a long time that we was thinking of Alex de Angelis as rider of our team. It is San Marino’s dream, that we would have been happy to accomplish in MotoGP, but that will start from the new class Moto2: an innovative class that I think will offer a very interesting show. Our team, with a world title, aspires to the strongest available riders, not only to try to keep the record, but also to participate to this new adventure with my neighbor, gives it a lot of significance. Along with Alex will be Niccolò Canepa (14/5/88), an expert on 4-stroke, the Genoese will be not only one of the point of reference into the championship. We do believe in his skills as a test rider for the development of our prototype, awaring that we have created a bike that is the expression of the know-how got from years of high level competitions but we must not neglect the delicate post-production testing”. THE BIKE The GP209 “wear” a newly designed aluminum chassis, totally adjustable in any offsets. The target of the engineers has been the development of a well-balanced bike, competitive on any circuit, instead of one performing only in ideal conditions. The engine is a 600cc 4 strokes, the suspensions are Showa, the brakes Brembo, the wheels are Marchesini, the exhaust system is Arrows and the saddle come from Acerbis. All components are already been tested separately, but the complete prototype will tackle the track very soon in secret development tests!
