ASHEVILLE, N.C. American Honda Motor Co. is the first major donor honored on the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s new Legacy Giving Wall. The foundation recognized Honda’s contributions during a ceremony at its Asheville headquarters earlier this month. As the longtime presenting sponsor of the PBTF’s Ride for Kids® program, Honda is committed to improving the health and well-being of children with brain tumors. “We are honored to be a part of this huge cause, and we recognize the many current supporters and volunteers that we join,” said Wayne Toyota, senior manager of Honda’s Motorcycle Division, who serves on the PBTF Board of Directors. “We look forward to the wall being filled with many more donors.” The Legacy Giving Wall is part of the PBTF’s Greatest Return initiative. It honors companies and individuals whose planned gifts will ensure future funding for research into the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors. The wall is also a stunning piece of art created by western North Carolina craftsmen Frank Tuuri and Michael Kane. Tuuri, owner of Renaissance Glass, has been designing glass for over 35 years. In addition to stained glass art, his product line includes decorative glass sculpture and dichroic art glass jewelry. His work is featured in galleries worldwide. Master woodworker Kane has been an internationally acclaimed artisan for 40 years. He has worked on many structures listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, and his designs have been featured in Architectural Digest magazine.
