Mother Nature was kind to WERA Motorcycle Roadracing this past weekend at the 2009 WERA GNF, which was the 36th anniversary of the event. Riders from across the US came together at Road Atlanta in Bradselton , GA for a weekend of the best racing in the US. Thursday was the Vintage Championship races, Friday the Bridgestone/WERA National Endurance final round won by Vesrah Suzuki giving them a perfect season for 2009. Saturday the Pirelli/WERA Sportsman riders, all 252 of them, took the track to see who is the best in each of the classes WERA offers Sportsman riders. The action was the closest in recent years and the winners are on the web site, wera.com for all to see. Sunday the final round of the Michelin/WERA National Challenge took to the track and gave spectators and fans some of the best racing, racers included Jeff Wood from Massachusettes, Taylor Knapp from Michigan, Corey West from Arkansas, Tray Batey from Tennessee, Robbie Jensen from North Dakota, Matt Lynn,& Daniel Parkerson from Georgia and John Jacobi from Indiana to name a few. Outstanding Novices of the weekend were Charles Strong from California and James Sehringer from Florida. All results are on the WERA web site. The Pirelli/WERA West Sportsman event at Las Vegas Classic Course, presented by Lucas Oil, will be Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 only. The Friday practice day has been cancelled.
