AMA SuperSport Kids Won’t Have To Use Rock-hard Spec Tires At Daytona Finale

To: All AMA Pro Road Racing Competitors Date: September 21, 2009 Effective Date: Immediately Subject: Approved Dunlop Tires Daytona International Speedway – October 16-18 It is the position of AMA Pro Racing’s tire partner Dunlop that the ONLY approved tires for use by SunTrust Moto-GT and SuperSport presented by Shoei competitors at the October 16-18, 2009, Daytona International Speedway race event are the D211GP and D209GP tires described below. It is important to note that Sportmax GPA tires, as used at all previous AMA Pro Road Racing events since the March 2009 Daytona International Speedway race, are NOT approved for use at the October 16-18 Daytona event. Due to the unique nature of Daytona International Speedway, it is imperative that only Daytona spec Dunlop tires be used. Any competitors trying to enter the track on non-approved tires will be sent back to their garage area until they have fitted the proper tires. Any subsequent attempts will be subject to penalties and fines. The approved D211GP and D209GP tires will be available at the Dunlop garage in the Daytona paddock throughout the event weekend. APPROVED TIRES Daytona International Speedway – 10/16-18/09 For this weekend, the ONLY approved tires are: SunTrust Moto-GT Class D211GP – 120/70ZR17 CBX07 2783 FRONT Recommend pressure 36 psi (Hot)/33 psi (Cold) D209GP – 160/60ZR17 PIL03 6680 (4.5×17 INCH RIM ONLY) Recommend pressure 35 psi (Hot)/32 psi (Cold) D211GP – 190/55ZR17 BTS12 2779 – REAR Recommend pressure 26 psi (Hot)/23 psi (Cold) NOTE Sportmax GPA tires are NOT approved SuperSport presented by Shoei Class D211GP – 120/70ZR17 CBX07 2783 FRONT Recommend pressure 36 psi (Hot)/33 psi (Cold) D211GP – 190/55ZR17 BTS12 2779 – REAR Recommend pressure 26 psi (Hot)/23 psi (Cold) NOTE Sportmax GPA tires are NOT approved
