Superbike Tires “Gets The Grip” with Continental Race Tires! California race tire distributor Superbike Tires has been awarded the exclusive rights to distribute Continental racing tires for the West Coast of the U.S. including Hawaii and Alaska, making the BIG4 of racing tire brands the BIG5! Continental tires, having long been the tire of choice for many European road racers has now focused its efforts on the North American marketplace and continues to establish pro-active distributors around the country. Mark Duncan, owner of Superbike Tires had this to say: “We are extremely pleased with the way that the Continental organization has handled our needs in getting us set up as new distributors. Our mandate at Superbike Tires is to not only provide world class tires for both competition and track day use, but to also set the high water mark for customer service, in stock availability, great pricing and ‘after the sale’ support. We stock Conti-RaceAttack Competition DOT race and Racing Slick tires in all compounds and the Rain tires are also now available. We sell Conti and we support you on and off the track and online!” Duncan Adds: “We have already done initial testing on the tires and the results have been very positive. Of course, switching from one brand of tire to another is going to require a bit of relearning, however we found that after a session or two, the test riders were easily able to come to grips with the new contour of the tire surface. We knew the tires would have excellent grip characteristics but we were all surprised by their endurance. From a Suzuki SV650 up through a Suzuki Hayabusa, the Conti’s have held up and have held up well. As a matter of fact, all the test bikes were running medium compound rears except for one ZX10R that was on the Conti ‘Endurance’ rear! Not only are these tires already priced right, but my ownership in The Track Club, our track day organization (www.thetrackclub.com) it allows us to offer incentives and packages to our customers that no other tire brand or track day company will be able to match!” Continental provides multiple choices of compounds (soft / medium / endurance) and sizing in their Conti RaceAttack series of competition tires, including race slicks, DOT’s race and rain tires. Continental has a unique approach to their competitor’s ‘multi-compound tires’ by developing their own exclusive ‘Continuous-Compound Technology’ where a single compound, ‘Black Chili’, is cured through a new temperature controlled process to deliver the benefits of a multi-compound tire without the abrupt transitions between the varying compounds. This ‘intuitive’ approach to altering the characteristic of the tire means there are no seams to tip through as the tire rolls from the harder center to the softer sides. Duncan: “I believe that all the big brands make a great tire! Where we can gain a market-edge is in the education of the rider with our product. Even though many road racers may know the particular tires pressures, surface temperatures, etc. that allow a tire to excel, most casual track day enthusiasts are not clear on these things and will typically set cold tire pressures and that’s it! We are committed to helping these people get the most out of the intended design of the tire and to insure that if there is ever an issue, it wouldn’t be because our customers did not ‘understand’ the tire and its capabilities.” Superbike Tires has a master plan for distributing their product with not only online through www.superbiktires.net, the tire distribution will be done from a warehouse in San Jose, California and will also be done through ‘sub-distributors’ dotted around their territory. This to make life easier on customers who wish to have their tire service done locally with vendors they may have already established relationships with. Duncan Adds: “Because we realize the immediacy of racing, we have plans in place to establish a number of sub-distributors around our region who will then stock their own quantity of Continental race tires for both racing and the multitude of track days around the region. This allows us to react more quickly to demand and get you out on the track where you want to be. We will guide these sub-distributors in all things Conti to insure that service and support of the brand is the same no matter where in our territory you purchase them.” Superbike Tires has packaged their race tires at a price that will allow the user to run Continental at a significant savings over all the other brands, Continental NA is also offering racing contingencies in all club racing organizations in 2009 and will continue to do so through 2010 and beyond. Trackside service at these events is imminent as Superbike Tires is establishing trackside tire vendors to set to create a unique and positive environment for all users of Continental’s Conti RaceAttack Tires! ‘Get The Grip’ with the newly arrived (to the West Coast) Conti-RaceAttack competition race products from Superbike Tires.
