‘Moose’ Kuykendall Recovering At Home Following Heart Attack, Triple Bypass Surgery

Long-time road race tire vendor Jim “Moose” Kuykendall is recovering at his home in Canton, North Carolina, after suffering a heart attack on August 24 and undergoing triple bypass surgery August 27. Kuykendall was released from Missions Hospital in Asheville on September 1 and is “recouping pretty good,” at home, according to his wife Theresa. “Each day he gains a little more strength and the pain eases up some. His only issues are dealing with pain meds and sleeping. He can’t really get seem to get comfortable, but he goes back to see the doctor today for a follow-up. “Moose wants to thank everyone for the cards they sent and the phone calls. He hasn’t been up to returning many calls, but hopes to do so soon. We also want to thank everyone for all the prayers and well wishes.” Theresa Kuykendall will be running Trackside Racers Supply’s Michelin road race tire vending business while her husband is incapacitated.
