Patriot Racing Hosts Wounded Veterans for a Day of Motorcycle Racing
Veterans honored by road racing community at Summit Point Motorsports Park
Patriot Racing hosted a group of combat-wounded veterans at Summit Point Motorsports Park on August 30 for the third “Race to Recovery” hospitality event of 2009. This late summer event gave the Wounded Warriors a chance to get away from the hospital and rehabilitation routine and enjoy a day of exciting motorcycle road racing with Patriot Racing and the Championship Cup Series.
The veterans were warmly welcomed by everyone in attendance; racers, spectators and race officials. In coordination with CCS staff and the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Club (MARRC) safety personnel, the veterans were taken for a parade lap during which, they received a hearty and boisterous ovation from the entire paddock as they passed by.
This was the final “Race to Recovery” event for 2009 that was held in conjunction with Patriot Racing’s own race efforts. “We are currently working to expand our program for 2010 and will have some exciting news to share on that shortly.”, states Steve Levow, founder of Patriot Racing. “We are honored to host our brave men and women in uniform at the races and look forward to the next opportunity to do so.”
Patriot Racing competes in the Mid-Atlantic and South-Eastern regions of Championship Cup Series motorcycle racing. Their primary off-track goals center around advocating for the long-term needs of wounded veterans and military families.
Thanks to their sponsors, Patriot Racing can pursue these goals on and off the track: RnR Cycles, Joe Rocket, Freestate Copier, Pirelli, Apex-Interactive, Speedcell-Full Spectrum Power, Road Race Prep, ScorpionEXO, On the Throttle.tv, Washington Capitals, Woodcraft-CFM
