FIM has again granted Portland, Oregon-based Veloce Racing – Aprilia two 125cc Wildcard entries for the Indianapolis round of the FIM MotoGP Series, August 28-30, 2009. This year two Young Guns will pilot Veloce’s USGPRU Championship Aprilia 125s: 16-year old Scottish Ben Young (#74) and 15-year old American Miles Thornton (#75). Currently, both riders compete in the National USGPRU series. The 8-person multi-national team that will support these two riders will be under the direction of Nobi Iso, the 2007 and 2008 National USGPRU Champion. At last year’s inaugural Indianapolis MotoGP, Veloce Racing – Aprilia entered the 125cc series with Young Gun Kris Turner on board their Aprilia RS125R. The knowledge gleaned from that participation and the feedback provided by the talented Kris Turner are invaluable aids in this year’s effort. Veloce Racing Aprilia has received generous support from Aprilia Racing Department, RS Taichi, Elf Moto USA, Speedymoto, GP Suspension and Mojotown.com. Sponsorship is still available for this event for companies wishing to get grand exposure at the highest class of motorcycle racing in the world. All Aprilia USA Dealers can use their co-op funds from the Piaggio Group to help pay for up to 50% of the sponsorship package. We urge dealers to contact their local Aprilia reps. Please contact Veloce Racing at 503-318-1900 or email at [email protected] for additional information.
