Big Kahuna Nationals at VIR to Host Canned Food Drive for Danville Food Bank AMA Pro Racing, Motor Racing Outreach Association, M1 and VIR Team up for Community DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 6, 2009) – Fans that attend the 2009 Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at Virginia International Raceway will be able to give back to the community while enjoying the best that AMA Pro Road Racing has to offer. The event weekend, which features doubleheaders by AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited and AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL, will take place August 14-16, 2009, and those visiting the scenic track in Alton, Va., have the opportunity to donate a can of food to a local charity. AMA Pro Racing, Motor Racing Outreach Association (MRO) Chaplain Tim Burleson, M1 Entertainment and VIR have joined forces to support the community and collect non-perishable food-items to benefit God’s Storehouse Food Bank in nearby Danville, Va. “The mountain regions have been hit hard during this recession,” said Burleson, a native of the North Carolina Mountains. “This food drive will let the hurting people in the Danville area know that the motorcycle racing community supports them and wants to give back.” Well-marked collection bins will be located at the entrance to the facility, the vendor area and Tech Building in the Paddock. All food items collected will be donated to the Food Bank at the end of the weekend. The public is invited to visit the website for God’s Storehouse at www.godsstorehouse.org. MRO’s website can be accessed at www.go2mro.com. AMA Pro Racing is the premier professional motorcycle racing organization in North America, operating a full schedule of events and championships for a variety of motorcycle disciplines. From its Daytona Beach headquarters, the organization operates and manages AMA Pro Road Racing, which includes AMA Pro American Superbike, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, AMA Pro SuperSport and AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT.
