At mid-race, Yoshimura Suzuki with Jomo leads the Suzuka 8 Hours, fourth round of the Qtel FIM Endurance World Championship. This GSX-R 1000, ridden by Daisaku Sakai, Kasuki Tokudome and Nobuatsu Aoki leads the race from lap 6. Behind are the Suzuki Plot Faro Panthera with Osamu Deguchi and Koji Teramoto and the Kawasaki Trick Star Racing with Shinya Takeishi, who made benefit of the rain to get back in the leading trio. In fourth place at mid-race, the Honda Dream RT Sakurai of Takumi Takahashi and Chojun Kameya is the first CBR1000RR after the two favourites, FCC TSR and Musashi Harc-Pro, crashed at the very beginning of the race. The first Yamaha is the one from YART. Yamaha Austria Racing Team holds tightly the fifth place. Igor Jerman, Steve Plater and Gwen Giabbani managed to get through the difficulties of this particular round, perturbated by a heavy shower after three hours of racing. The second other permanent teams present at Suzuka are also in the points. The Yamaha BK Maco Moto Racing Team with Dani Ribalta and Jason Pridmore is eleventh and the Yamaha Phase One Endurance of Pedro Vallcaneras, Graeme Gowland and Damian Cudlin is fourteenth. As usual at Suzuka, it was some action, suspense and drama from the beginning of the race. Started from pole position on the Honda FCC TSR, Kosuke Akiyoshi was leading the first lap but crashed immediately after. Then Tatsuya Yamaguchi took the lead on the Honda Musashi Harc-Pro, ahead of the Yoshimura Suzuki. On that Suzuki, Daisaku Sakai took the lead in the sixth lap, but after half an hour of battle, Yamaguchi crashed on the Honda Musashi Harc-Pro, and joined the Honda FCC TSR at the end of the pack as the race just started. After four hours, FCC TSR is in twenty-sixth position, after a great come back and the best race lap, and Musashi RT Harc-Pro is fortieth. The finish will be judged at 7:30 pm (GMT + 8), half an hour after sunset on the Suzuka race track. 2009 Suzuka 8 Hours Standings after 4 Hours 1. Yoshimura Suzuki with Jomo 12 (JPN/Suzuki/D.
