Marietta, Ga — Joey Pascarella has been invited to race in the ESPN X Games Supermoto event. The 16 year-old motorcycle racer from Vacaville, California will contest the invitation-only event in Carson, California at the Home Depot Center on August 1. The race will be televised live on ABC. “I’ve been watching the X Games since I was a kid. I can’t wait to go out there and give it 100% and see what happens. There’s a huge audience for the X Games and it’ll be sweet to get to compete on that type of stage,” said Joey, who races for the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/ Honda squad in XTRM Supermoto. Pascarella was invited to participate last season but had a previous commitment with the Red Bull Rookies Cup. This season Pascarella led the AMA Pro SuperSport East division points for LTD Racing until he was forced to miss the Road America event with an injury. He will return to action at Laguna Seca this weekend with LTD Racing teammates Huntley Nash and Tomas Puerta in the AMA Pro SuperSport race at the United States Grand Prix. “I’m excited to race again,” he said. “It hasn’t been long, but it feels it. I missed racing so much. I really hated missing Road America but we’re still not out of the championship yet. I need to win some races and earn some good results and we’ll see what happens.” Despite missing the Elkhart Lake round, Pascarella is just one point behind second place in the standings.
