Roadracingworld.com’s Chris Ulrich and Elena Myers are heading to Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah this coming weekend to participate in the Utah Sportbike Association’s (USBA) Unlimited GTO and GTU races. Designed as support classes for the weekend’s World Superbike and World Supersport events, the USBA races will each run 30 minutes. Ulrich will be competing in the “almost anything goes” GTO class and Myers will race in the smaller displacement GTU class. Both Ulrich and Myers will be riding Kawasaki’s latest weaponry with Ulrich jumping back on the Roadracingworld.com project ZX-10R, which he used to win three WERA West races early this year, and Myers, Kawasaki’s youngest sponsored road racer, riding her all-new 2009 ZX-6R. “The goal of the Kawasaki Project is to show that anyone can make the ZX-10R competitive,” said Ulrich. “We proved the bike is capable of being competitive at different tracks, yet some club racers and readers still don’t believe us despite the fact we printed all the settings and specifications. I am looking forward to continuing the project and showing our readers how to make their own ZX-10R competitive at any level of racing. As for the race at Miller Motorsports Park I have raced most of the guys entered and I know the race will be difficult, but I am confident that Kawasaki has built a machine capable of winning. Project Crew Chief Joey Lombardo and I tested the ZX-10R at Willow Springs over the Memorial Day weekend and it is the fastest motorcycle I have ever thrown a leg over and that includes a MotoGP bike! I am looking forward to the race; it will be a big challenge, but it should be a lot of fun!” Myers, coming off her debut ride on the 2009 ZX-6R this last weekend with WERA at Miller Motorsports Park, said “This is going to be a really fun weekend, especially with Chris as my teammate! I just finished the WERA National for a little shakedown of the new bike. The 2009 ZX-6R is an awesome machine and I can’t wait to race it again in front of all those World Superbike fans, the weekend can’t come soon enough for me.” Come by and say hi to both Chris Ulrich and Elena Myers this weekend at Miller Motorsports Park. On-track activities begin Friday morning.
