(Birmingham, AL) – The Barber Motorsports Park is pleased to welcome the 7th annual Honda Superbike Classic back to town. This year’s event will offer more attractions and value than ever for fans and families alike. The race weekend kicks off on Thursday night with an autograph party featuring Geoff May of the National Guard Jordan Suzuki team at the home of Birmingham’s largest “Bike Night”, the Iron Horse Café. Friday’s lunch hour will find select members of the media taking to the 2.38 mile circuit at Barber on the back of the May-piloted National Guard two-up bike. Friday night festivities center around an autograph party at Billy’s on Overton starring the team of Corona Extra Honda Racing, and a special appearance by Geoff May and Aaron Yates on-stage during the Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil, a rock and roll music festival set in the streets of downtown Birmingham. During lunch on Saturday, motorcycle riders will have the opportunity to ride a few laps around the circuit by purchasing a parade lap ticket. Additionally, fans that purchased paddock passes will have the opportunity to mingle amongst the riders and bikes of AMA Pro Racing on pit lane during the pre-race Fan Walk. The Red Bull Air Force will sky-dive into the Park just prior to the start of the race. Sunday’s lunch break will again feature laps around the 17-turn course for those who purchased parade lap tickets, as well as an autograph session with all the riders of the AMA Pro Road Racing Series. Later in the afternoon, a second pre-race Fan Walk will take place on pit lane for those holding paddock passes. Throughout the weekend, the Fan Zone will offer an expanded concession menu and food court, as well as the following: * American Honda display * Rhett Rotten’s “Wall of Death” Extreme Vintage Motorcycle Stunt Show * National Guard Fan Expo * Chick-Fil-A Zone featuring the Cow Herd, games and prizes for kids of all ages (Friday and Saturday) * Birmingham Zoo petting zoo (Saturday) * Kid Zone with moon walks and slides * Ducati Island Showdown (located at tram stop 3) Spectator tickets, parade laps tickets and paddock passes may be purchased by visiting the new Barber Motorsports Park web site at www.barbermotorsports.com.
