April 27th, 2009 – Toledo, OH – Honda East Yamaha Suzuki of Toledo will be starting the season this upcoming weekend in the WERA series at Nelson Ledges Road Course, located in Garrettsville, Ohio. Eddie Kraft will continue to ride aboard a Yamaha R6 and is bringing renewed support from Flagstar Bank along for the 2009 season. The team will consist of Tom Beagle, Joe Kraft, Doug Cornett and Garry Hayes.
Honda East’s Tom Beagle commented, “We’re looking for a good season this year. It’s been a long winter for all of us and we’ve spent a lot of time preparing to get things underway. I know Eddie is ready to go out there, have some fun and compete with everyone. I even have a bike myself that I’m hoping to terrorize the senior class with if I’m lucky!”
Crew Chief, father and semi-retired racer Joe Kraft answered, “We’re definitely going to have a good time this season. I don’t know how that’s entirely possible since I retired from racing this year, but just being at the track with the team, competing and seeing all the familiar faces at each event is what its all about. If the rider isn’t going fast enough, I may just have to put my leathers back on and show him how it’s done.”
“There are plenty of fast guys out there this year who are already up to speed,” commented Eddie Kraft. “We’ve got some work to do to bridge the gap, but I can’t wait to get back out there and have some fun dicing it up with everyone. We’ve spent a long winter getting everything planned and ready, so now we just have to go put it to good use.”
