CMRA Hosting Special Mini Road Racing Event June 13-14 At Oak Hill Raceway

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) is pleased to announce the Shogun Motorsports Mini, GP & Motard Fest to be held at challenging Oak Hill Raceway near Henderson, Texas, on June 13-14, 2009. Generous purse payouts include $3,000 for the Shogun Motorsports 8-hour mini endurance race, and $500 each for the Shogun Motorsports 125 GP, Shogun Motorsports Super Motard and Shogun Motorsports Unlimited Motard. Special purses by Shogun Motorsports will also be posted for two rounds of the CMRA Mini Sprints to be held at the event. The Saturday, June 13 schedule features round four of the CMRA Mini Sprint Series with races for Formula 4 and 6, Junior Motard (age 8 to 12 sportsmanship class) and Formula 5 and 7. The sprint races will be followed on Saturday by the 8-hour round three of the CMRA Mini Endurance Series, which is also a crossover event with the Texas Mini Grand Prix organization. Sunday, June 14 will feature round five of the CMRA Mini Sprint Series followed by qualifying and then racing for the Shogun Motorsports Super and Unlimited Motard classes (15 laps each) and the 20-lap Shogun Motorsports 125 GP. Sunday will finish with the Texas Mini Grand Prix sprint series schedule to be announced at the track. Practice on the day of racing is included with each race entry. Additionally, Lone Star Track Days (www.lstd.com) will hold a track day and CMRA License School at Oak Hill Raceway on Friday, June 12 immediately preceding the CMRA Shogun Mini Fest. Racers should contact LSTD directly for information about the track day. CMRA mini class competition is open to licensed riders as young as 10 years old. Guest racers presenting a current license from most national and regional road racing organizations will be able to purchase a one-weekend CMRA license to participate in this event. The four CMRA mini classes allow participation by virtually every size mini and engine configuration currently being raced in the United States. Class structure and bike requirement information is available at www.cmraracing.com . Oak Hill Raceway is a 1.8 mile road course in the rolling hills near Henderson, Texas. Oak Hill is considered to be one of the most challenging road courses in the South and its technical layout makes it the perfect race course for small displacement motorcycles. Many champions including Ben Spies, Colin Edwards, Kevin Schwantz and Nicky Hayden honed their skills at Oak Hill.
