Jacobsen’s publicist: Jacobsen Finishes Fifth in Cold Wet Albacete Winter Garden, Florida — American PJ Jacobsen sat on the pole for today’s CEV Championship in Albacete Spain. Quite an accomplishment for rider and his new team. This mornings warm-up was under slick conditions as mother nature gave Jacobsen and the field some rain, however Jacobsen looked strong and timed .07 seconds behind leader to head into the premier race. At high noon the race commenced, PJ looked good and stayed with the top pack for the eighteen laps. The cold, damp conditions presented some lead changes and PJ ended in fifth position adding eleven points after the first round of the championship. Teammates Isaac Vinales took the win while Adrian Martin finished 14th. The next round will be in Jerez June 7, 2009
