Martin SOLORZA (Kaw ZX-10R), 1:31.505 American Kenny Noyes (Palmeto Kawasaki) took third in qualifying for the inaugural Buckler CEV Spanish Championship round that will be held tomorrow at the Circuit of Albacete. The first session started with a small setback as Noyes crashed in the precarious, wet conditions of the first qualifying session. This mishap had no consequences and the Palmeto Kawasaki rider set fourth fastest time while concentrating on finding a rain set up with the Michelin-shod Kawasaki. The afternoon session was run on a totally dry track and Noyes spent most the 40 minutes working to find a race set-up for Sunday. At the end of the session he went out on a qualifier and secured third fastest time and a front row start. As has been the case in all pre-season testing, Noyes found a competitive race and is firmly established as a candidate for the win on Sunday in his bid to take the 1000cc Extreme title in 2009. Tomorrow’s race starts at 10:45 local time and is scheduled for 19 laps.
