AMA Pro American Superbike practice was stopped Saturday morning at Road Atlanta due to a crash involving Yamaha’s Josh Hayes. According to AMA officials, Hayes crashed his YZF-R1 between the Turn 10 chicane and the Suzuki bridge at Turn 11. Hayes was transported from the scene by ambulance but walked out of the ambulance and into the track’s medical center under his own power. He was treated and released. The incident left fluid on the track, resulting in a delay to clean the racing surface before continuing the session. Update: Even though 20 minutes were left in the 30-minute practice, AMA Pro officials canceled the remainder of the American Superbike practice.
