SONOMA, Calif. (April 3, 2009) Motorcycle madness will take over Infineon Raceway during a three-day stretch as race fans are invited to the 4th annual Two-Wheel Thunder, April 20-22. The three-day stretch will be highlighted, April 20-21, by an official AMA Pro Road Racing test session, one of just three in the country planned for the 2009 season. The top teams in American Superbike and Daytona SportBike will converge on the Sonoma Valley in advance of the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts, May 15-17. Some of the teams scheduled to attend the session include Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki, Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Corona Extra Honda and Foremost Insurance Ducati. Fans will be admitted FREE to the raceway both days, but should target Tuesday, April 21, as the raceway will host a rider Q&A session at the lunch break, as well as Supermoto and SBFreaks Street Freestyle demonstrations and special ticket offers. The action continues on Wednesday, April 22, with a 3Js Motorcycle Track Days charity event. It’s an opportunity for you to get a full day of riding on the road course, plus lunch and a T-shirt, with all proceeds going to Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. More, from a press release issued by AMA Pro Racing: First AMA Pro Road Racing Sanctioned Test of 2009 Set For Infineon Raceway April 20 – 21 Two Wheel Thunder Event Open to the Public and Top AMA Pro Teams Already Confirmed DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 4, 2009) – The first of three officially sanctioned 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing test sessions will be held at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., April 20 – 21, and is available to all currently licensed AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited and AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL teams. Open to the public, the test is being administered by Infineon Raceway which is billing the Monday and Tuesday session as the 4th Annual Two Wheel Thunder. Many top American Superbike and Daytona SportBike teams and riders have already confirmed participation with several others expected to commit to the test in the coming days in preparation for their return to the Sonoma Valley in advance of the Kawasaki AMA Pro Superbike Showdown presented by Supercuts, May 15 – 17. Some of the teams scheduled to attend Two Wheel Thunder include Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki, Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Corona Extra Honda and Foremost Insurance Ducati. Two Wheel Thunder kicks off the three official tests of 2009 for American Superbike and Daytona SportBike competitors as a key part of new testing policies and regulations that were announced by AMA Pro Road Racing earlier this year. Each of the three official test days will be held at respective tracks in the East and Midwest in addition to the Infineon event that will serve the West. The other tests are tentatively scheduled for Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 10 – 11 and New Jersey Motorsports Park, July 21 – 22. Each test will be operated and sanctioned by AMA Pro and entrants will be responsible for track rental costs, tires and fuel.
