DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 13, 2009) – The largest races on the AMA Pro Grand National Flat Track Series will be televised beginning with the legendary Springfield Mile. Thanks to the efforts of Speed Channel through an agreement with the IMDA and Peoria Motorcycle Club, the two Springfield Miles and Peoria TT will be shown on Speed Channel. Chet Burks Productions will be filming in High Definition and has teamed up with legendary motorcycle film direction Peter Starr.

Chet Burks said, “Once again, the Speed Channel has shown their commitment to motorcycle racing. Without their help, this show would never be produced. On a personal note, I’ve admired Peter Starr’s work for years and this is the first time we’re getting to work together showing off our favorite form of racing.”

Peter Starr brought Stroh’s beer to the AMA Pro Flat Track Series in 1984-85 and created the highly successful Stroh Mile Series on The Nashville Network and USA Network.   Tommra Kiesow from the IMDA said, “We are so grateful to Chet Burks for making this happen and we are so proud to have our races aired on a prestigious network like Speed Channel.”

Both the Springfield Mile and Peoria TT showcase the true essence of flat track motorcycle racing. The Mile at Springfield offers side-by-side racing through the turns at 100mph, with NASCAR style drafting down the straights resulting in photo finishes.

The Peoria Motorcycle Club has been active since 1934, and today, it still reflects the original intent of its founders with racing on the famed TT track with an 80mph jump launching riders over 100′ through the air.

“This is a true collaboration of everyone working together to show our premiere races to a new audience along with our existing fans,” said Mike Kidd, AMA Pro Racing Director of Flat Track. “We are pleased to have Chet Burks Productions working with our promoters to expand the awareness of the most spectacular motorsports racing in the country.” Check local listing for dates & times www.speedtv.com
