Grids to be Opened for Infield Ticketholders for AMA Pro Superbike and Daytona 200 Races DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Motorcycle racing fans will literally have a chance to get up close and personal with some of the world’s top riders and their high-speed machines at AMA Pro Road Racing events this season just minutes before AMA Pro American Superbike and AMA Pro Daytona SportBike races. The new-for-2009 AMA Pro Road Racing Fan Walk program is being launched during Daytona 200 Week by Honda and will be available to all event infield ticket holders just before Thursday’s AMA Pro American Superbike race (3:30 p.m. start) and Friday’s historic 68th running of the Daytona 200 by Honda (8 p.m. start) under the lights. Each Fan Walk experience will be 30 minutes in length and will commence 45 minutes before the start of each race, with all grids cleared 15 minutes before each race’s scheduled start time. “We have put a lot of time and energy into making AMA Pro Road Racing a positive experience for not only the competitors but our valued motorcycle racing fans as well,” said AMA Pro Racing President Roger Edmondson. “We are grateful to our race event partners that have embraced this new fan promotion and know we can depend on our incredible teams and riders to make this a truly memorable experience for their valued fans.” Following the Daytona launch, AMA Pro Road Racing plans to offer the Fan Walk in advance of as many American Superbike and Daytona SportBike races as possible this season. In some cases, existing event schedules will preclude the Fan Walk, but the majority of AMA Pro Road Racing event weekends are expected to include this unique new experience. The Fan Walks during Daytona 200 Week by Honda are not the only special experiences available to ticketholders at the season-opening event. Daytona International Speedway and AMA Pro Road Racing have put together a variety of attractions and opportunities that will make for a memorable day at the track. Thursday includes an all-rider autograph session that will be held in the Sprint FANZONE area of the DIS infield at 12:40 p.m. and a rare opportunity for motorcycle enthusiasts to tour the actual Daytona road course on their own motorcycles in the third-annual Spring Dash Around At Daytona. This one-of-a-kind package includes two parade laps around the track, a Spring Dash T-Shirt, an After Party in the Sprint FANZONE with live entertainment and the chance to watch Daytona 200 by Honda AMA Pro Daytona SportBike qualifying. Tickets are only $40 and a companion ticket is available for $20. Tickets can be purchased at the Budweiser Cool Your Pipes Zone outside of Turn 4 on Friday, Feb. 27 – March 5, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and are also available on www.kickstandcity.com. A portion of the proceeds from Spring Dash Around At Daytona will benefit the VFW National Military Assistance Programs. Another unique opportunity is a chance to see the American Veteran’s Traveling Wall and Tribute that is on display at DIS throughout Daytona 200 Week. The display is an 80%-size mobile replica of the American Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., and both memorials honor those who served and gave their all to defend the United States of America. Thousands of veterans, motorcycle enthusiasts, local resident and guests from in town and around the country have already visited DIS this week to view the special memorial.
