CAPIROSSI WITH SIDI VORTICE READY FOR THE NEW MOTO GP SEASON The winning combination of Sidi Sport and Loris Capirossi continues. The pilot from Imola is riding for Team Suzuki this year, and he’s sure to be one to watch in the world series of the Moto GP, which will begin at night on Sunday, April 12th on the spectacular nigh lighted course at Losail, Doha in Qatar. In a recent visit to Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser (TV), Capirossi, who was accompanied by his wife, Ingrid, got the chance to meet all the Sidi technical staff that have been designing and making his boots for years. During the usual autograph and photograph ritual, the staff seized the occasion to present Capirossi with his brand new Sidi Vortice boots, which the champion will be using on the track in the upcoming world championship season. Vortice is the top of the line model from the Sidi race line, made with micro fibre uppers and a woven Teflon treated lining, featuring an anti torsion system and adjustable air vents on the external beams and front slider. Each champion from the Sidi Sport stables has their own special version of the Vortice, personalized with his team’s colours and the individual number that identifies each rider’s motorcycle. Capirex is nr. 65. Capirossi’s Suzuki team mates Chris Vermeulen and American Colin Edwards will also be on hand to help defend the Sidi colours in Moto GP. Capirossi currently holds the record for most races run (surpassing another Sidi pilot, Brazilian Alex Barros, last August 31st on the Misano Adriatico circuit). He’s considered a veritable legend in world motorcycle racing. At 17 he became the youngest pilot to have won a World title, in the 125 class, and he’s also the rider who had the longest lapse between his first victory (in 1990) and his last”¦for now (in 2007), a 17 year dry spell.
