Duhamel Will Be On SPEED Channel’s Wind Tunnel With Dave Despain Tonight

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 22, 2009) – Five-time Daytona 200 by Honda winner and former AMA Pro American Superbike Champion Miguel Duhamel will be a featured guest on tonight’s Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain on the leading motorsports television network SPEED. In its seventh season on SPEED, Wind Tunnel airs live Sunday at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT). Duhamel won the Daytona 200 in 1991, 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2005 and will be riding in the 68th running of the race, Friday, March 6, which will be run for the first time at night and under the lights on the full 3.55-mile Daytona International Speedway road course. He is one of several former winners and top motorcycle road racing champions entered in the 2009 Daytona 200, which also marks the debut of the new AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class. Coverage of the Daytona 200 begins on SPEED at 8:30 p.m. ET, on Friday, March 6. Duhamel is tied with Scott Russell for the most career Daytona 200 wins and earned each victory on a Honda. In this year’s Daytona 200, however, Duhamel will race for longtime competitor and fellow French Canadian Pascal Picotte at Team Suzuki/Blackfoot/Picotte Racing on the No. 17 Suzuki GSX-R600. The all-time AMA Pro Road Racing career win leader with 86 victories, Duhamel has also been victorious in several other classes at Daytona, won the 1995 American Superbike championship and has picked up seven other career championships in the former Formula Xtreme and SuperSport classes.
