Motorcycling Australia Hosts Inaugural Promoters Conference

Recently Motorcycling Australia (MA) held its first ever Promoters Conference for the promoters of a range of 2009 Australian Championships. The Conference, held in Sydney on 14 February, was attended by MA staff members and 14 representatives from eight clubs promoting Aussie Titles throughout the year. The day was a great opportunity for the clubs to sit down with MA and open communication channels; to provide and receive feedback and advice and to share their experiences and knowledge. Those in attendance were provided with a Promoter’s Pack containing relevant information for hosting a Championship. MA received valuable feedback from the clubs and has come away from the conference with a number of ideas to help further develop the sport and its processes. It is through opportunities such as this that MA hopes to not only improve relations with promoters, but to also maintain and increase the quality and professionalism of Australian Championships, increase crowd attendance at events, increase media coverage and gain recognition for motorcycle sport in the mainstream sports sphere. Promoters who were unable to attend or who promote an Australian Championship as a series have been sent a copy of the Promoters Pack and MA welcomes their feedback and advice on the information provided. Following its success, MA plans to hold similar conferences again as well as updating the material contained in the Promoters Pack based on feedback and recommendations.
