Irvine, Calif. – Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. announced today it is realigning its road racing program to accommodate changes in the platform announced by AMA Pro Racing beginning this season. The company will focus its efforts on the premiere AMA SportBike 600cc class, fielding a factory-backed effort that is led by two top racers-including Roger Hayden. The new team, combining the extensive resources of Kawasaki, which has won numerous 600cc class championships, and the on-track success of Attack Performance Racing-including consecutive Daytona 200 one-two finishes-makes this effort a significant threat on the racing circuit. “Our approach to winning is the same,” said Mike Preston, Kawasaki Road Racing Manager. “We’re going into the 2009 season with the Monster Energy® Attack Kawasaki team that will continue to place our best racers and machines on top of the box,” he said. According to Kawasaki’s Director of Marketing, Bruce Stjernstrom, “the Kawasaki brand is synonymous with high performance and the expectation of our dealers and fans is that we make every effort to win. This blending of resources puts us in a position to accomplish that task.”
