American Honda announces an expansion of the Moriwaki MD250H Powered by Honda program. Torrance, CA: American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Moriwaki Engineering Japan are pleased to announce the MD250H Powered by Honda race bike program is being expanded for the 2009 season. Introduced in 2008, the MD250H evidenced Honda¹s commitment to amateur road racers. The MD250H allowed aspiring young road racers to polish their craft on a top-level racing machine, one that combines the jewel-like build quality Moriwaki is famous for with the durability and dependability of Honda¹s CRF250X four-stroke engine. With a strong contingency program and solid dealer support, the program was a huge success in 2008, and the program will now expand in 2009 to make the MD250H available to additional buyers. Last year the MD250H was available exclusively to qualified USGPRU youth racers. For 2009, the MD250H is available to additional buyers through approved Moriwaki/Honda dealerships, which means this race-prepped machine can be enjoyed at track days and club-racing venues across the country. The MD250H is powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Unicam® engine from Honda¹s popular CRF250X that has been race tuned by Moriwaki Engineering. From the wheels up, these purpose-built machines have been an instrument for some of the most exciting racing in 2008. For 2009, contingency awards are posted in both WERA and USGPRU youth racing programs. For more information about availability, contact your participating Honda dealer or American Honda at (310) 783-3983.
