A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20, for Jessica Grana, 2, daughter of Michael (Micky) and Aimee Grana, co-owners of SoCal Track Days and the developers of a new racing facility in Southern California. Jessica Grana died Tuesday, Dec. 16, when she was struck in the driveway of her La Quinta, California home by a truck driven by her father. According to police reports, Michael Grana had stopped his pickup truck at the entrance to the driveway to talk to his wife. When he moved forward to park, he struck his daughter, causing the fatal injuries. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The family is well-known for their operations with SoCal Track Days, their sponsorship of road racers, and their efforts to develop a new race track near Desert Center, California. Grana says the track day operation will continue, as will plans to open the new facility this year. The memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Pacific Time at Christ of The Desert Chapel, 73441 Fred Waring Dr., Palm Desert, CA 92260. Flowers can be sent to the above address in care of “Emanuel House.”
