Team Pedercini has settled the riders couple which will be lined up in the 2009 season. The Italian team will carry on his experience in the SBK championship by taking to the track the Kawasaki ZX-10R’09. The Japanese machines will be assigned to the Italian-Spanish duo made by Luca Scassa (race #99) and David Salom (#25). The completely renewed rider fleet comes together with the confirmation of the whole staff and management. Team Pedercini feels confident about the choice of two young talented riders, and it expects to be able to fight for the top-15 in all the rounds of the season. Scassa, born 25 years ago at Arezzo, has already grabbed several victories in his career: he has just won the SBK Italian championship on MV Augusta, by which he entered the AMA SBK, being the best ‘deb’, and by which he won the Italian STK1000 title in the 2006. As well David Salom, 24yo from Palma de Mallorca, can number several successes: in 2006 he won the Spanish Supersport Championship and he was able to be one of the best young riders of the World Supersport Championship for two years in a row, often fighting for the top positions. DAVID SALOM: “This is a very big opportunity in my career. I will enter the championship of the best riders and I want to capitalize this chance. I would like to thank the team for having put its confidence in me. I will do my best to give them many satisfactions”. LUCA SCASSA: “I’m going to face this new experience full of self-confidence. I’m sure to power to some good result, I’m excited and I’m burning to start the championship. I would like to finish constantly into the points, and help the team in developing the machine as well, in order to try to be in the top-10 sometimes”. DONATO PEDERCINI | Team Manager: “Once again we are going to line-up two young riders, giving them the chance to play their cards in a very hard-fought championship. We are already working hard in order to develop the bike, and we are going to test the machines on the end of January at Portimao during the testing with the other teams. I would like to thank Kawasaki for its renewed trust which we hope to pay back doing a good work on the track”. Editorial Note: Scassa was named the AMA Pro Racing Superbike Rookie of the Year in 2007.
