2008 AMA Supersport Champion Ben Bostrom was the fastest rider Friday morning during the AMA Pro Racing tire test at Daytona International Speedway. Within his first seven laps on his factory YZF-R6, Bostrom lapped the 3.51-mile road course in a time of 1:50.630. Bostrom said his biggest hurdle was not adjusting to the full, double-banking course, which he had not run for several years, but was re-acclimating himself to the harder, lower-grip Daytona tires. The Daytona SportBike machines do not go back out until 6:00 p.m. local time, when they will have their first night practice under the lights. American Superbikes are on the track right now at Daytona.
