MANAGEMENT CHANGES AT RACING 2 SAVE LIVES

Racing 2 Save Lives, an organization that brings together motorcyclists to help raise funds for children’s charities, has reluctantly accepted the resignations of two of its founders, Executive Director Stan Foxworthy and President Sharon Foxworthy, effective immediately.

R2SL co-founder Ralph Forsythe will assume the roles of president and executive director, while former Director at Large Sheila Paul will fill the position of vice president formerly occupied by Forsythe. Scott Rybarik, who has served as R2SL’s coordinator of rider coaches and track safety, has been nominated to serve as a director, pending ratification by R2SL’s entire board of directors. Sharon Foxworthy will remain on the R2SL board.

“Due to my responsibilities as marketing manager for Pirelli motorcycle tires, and other personal obligations, Sharon and I can no longer actively participate in helping R2SL to continue to thrive and grow,” said Stan Foxworthy. “R2SL has grown exponentially over its first five years, and we’re proud to have contributed to its success. But now is the right time to turn over the reins to those who can take it to the next level.”

Sharon Foxworthy cited R2SL’s contributions to children’s charities totaling nearly a quarter-million dollars as the most satisfying aspect of her tenure. “When we started R2SL in 2004, we had no idea we would achieve this level of success,” she said. “I want to thank every participant, volunteer and sponsor who helped make R2SL one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.”

Forsythe commended the outgoing executives for their role in furthering R2SL’s mission to make a positive difference in the lives of children, while promoting safe, high-performance motorcycling in a controlled environment. “Without Stan and Sharon, R2SL wouldn’t be where it is today,” Forsythe said. “We plan on building on their legacy to achieve even greater success.”

Paul acknowledged that while the resignations will leave a void, the organization remains committed to its mission. “Stan and Sharon, along with others, helped build a strong operational team for R2SL,” she said. “I look forward to carrying on their dreams of a successful charity and making a positive contribution in my new role.”

R2SL organizers are currently planning events for 2009. For more information on participating or volunteering, visit R2SL’s web site at www.racing2savelives.org or call 303-767-RACE.

Racing 2 Save Lives is a 501(c)3 charity that operates unique track-day events for motorcyclists, with proceeds donated to deserving children’s charities in the communities where R2SL takes place. Since its founding in 2004, R2SL has donated $246,000 to charity.
