New Rules Committee For AMA Pro Racing Dirt Track

Mike Kidd, Director of Flat Track for AMA Pro Racing, has announced the establishment of a Flat Track Rules Committee, which will meet at the American Motorcyclist Association headquarters, in Pickerington, Ohio, on October 9-10. The AMA Pro Racing Flat Track rules committee will bring together a number of respected individuals from the Flat Track racing community, who all bring with them, significant experience in the sport of professional motorcycle racing . Members of the committee include, Steve Morehead, Pat Moroney, Mike Kidd, Gary Kidd, Travis Smith, Kenny Tolbert, Steve Carnegie and Bill Werner. The committee will be reviewing the current rules for flat track competition and will be working to develop technical rules for 2009 and beyond that will help to ensure that AMA Pro Racing can meet the challenges of maintaining a competitive racing environment that meets the needs and demands of our racing fans, sponsors, teams and riders. In addition, the committee will be working, to help establish an operational strategy, to increase fan awareness and to generate financial support for our riders and promoters.
