Honda Crewmen In Limbo As Rumored Announcement Day Comes And Goes

Road race team crewmen and mechanics contracted to American Honda watched a rumored September 1 announcement-of-2009-plans deadline come and go without a word on what will happen once their contracts expire. “We haven’t heard anything,” said one of the contractors. “They haven’t told us anything.” Another contractor told Roadracingworld.com that in an earlier meeting, crewmen were told that American Honda had to stop new AMA Pro Racing owners DMG now in order to maintain manufacturer control of U.S. racing. Contracts between most of the current Honda crewmen and American Honda Motor Co. expire in September. Stay tuned.
