Updated: Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup Race Stopped By Bad Crash, Moved To The End Of The Day At VIR

The Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup race scheduled for Sunday morning at VIRginia International Raceway was stopped for a bad crash on the first lap involving Toriano Wilson, Garet Tomlinson and Luciano Ribodino. Due to the time necessary to tend to the downed riders the race has been postponed until the end of the day Sunday. The condition of the riders had not been reported at post time. Red Bull and AMA Pro Racing are planning to release a statement on the condition of the riders shortly. We will provide updated information as it becomes available. Update: From a statement issued by VIR and AMA Pro Racing: Motorcycle racers Toriano Wilson of Bermuda and Luciano Robidino from Argentina were involved in a first-lap incident in their Rookies Cup race Sunday morning. Wilson was transported to UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC for evaluation and treatment and Ribodino was transported to Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC for evaluation and treatment. Further information will be released as it is made available.
