For reaction to the announced and published 2009 AMA Superbike Series rules and class structure we contacted, or attempted to contact, representatives from each of the major motorcycle manufacturers currently involved in AMA National road racing in America. To get the views of Yamaha Motors Corporations, U.S.A. we called the Cypress, California-based company’s Racing Manager Keith McCarty, but when we called McCarty said his time was short. Roadracingworld.com: What are your thoughts on the recently announced 2009 AMA Pro road racing classes and rules and your racing plans for next year? Keith McCarty: We’re really happy to have something to really look at now and to kind of figure out, but I think there’s still a few unanswered questions which would preclude us from making a firm decision on what direction we’re going to go. But I think it’s a big step and puts everything out there in a little different light than what originally it was. RW: Can you tell us what some of those unanswered questions are? McCarty: Not right now. Nope.
