Johnstown, Ohio”¦Looking to extend their point lead in the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series, Aprilia USA/Lloyd Brothers Motorsports are putting the finishing touches on their motorcycles before heading for Barber Motorsports Park, July 20 for Round 4 of this year’s series. The defending champions in the Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport Twins class (SST), Aprilia USA/Lloyd Brothers Motorsports are running two bikes and are currently ranked in first and third after three events. “We have a 10 point lead and our second Aprilia is just nine points out of second,” explain co-owners David and Michael Lloyd. “Our goal is to get a comfortable lead going into the 8-Hours At Daytona so that if we have any major problems, we will still be able to take the title. Another strong finish this weekend will certainly help bring us that much closer to our goal.” “This will mark the first time the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series has raced at Barber,” says Mike Himmelsbach, who along with Ty Howard, pilots the No. 1 Aprilia. “I have raced there before and am glad that they have added it to this year’s tour. It is an extremely motorcycle friendly track. It is also very technical and a good handling bike is definitely a major key to doing well. I know it will be a fun race and with a little luck I think we can do well. This is a really good team and luckily for me, my teammate Ty is an outstanding racer. We have everything we need to take a top spot. All we need now is for luck to be on our side.” Looking to move into the second place overall spot is the No. 6 Aprilia with Zac Chapman and Henry Wiles aboard. “So far we have taken a fourth, a sixth and a third,” says Wiles. Now, we are ready for a win. Hopefully, we will be able to bump it up a notch and get on the Barber Podium.” “We are really proud of our entire team,” add both the Lloyd Brothers. “They definitely give it their all and that’s all anyone can ask for. When the Green Flag falls on the 20th, we will be ready to try our luck once again.”
