Serpent Racing’s team owner/rider Jason Temme announced today that a partnership formed with Calvin Martinez and National Precious Metals to contest the SunTrust Moto-ST Series for the 2008 season has been dissolved. The team had also been competing in the ASRA Team Challenge series and currently leads the Championship points in the GTO and GTU classes as well as the Overall standings. Prior to the SunTrust Moto-ST event at Road America on June 7th the team held 5th in the points standing for that series. “It’s disappointing, we had high expectations heading into this partnership” commented Temme. “While we have recognized some success on the track, we just weren’t coming together as a team. With two very different approaches to racing and philosophies on team management we were just not able to meet in the middle.” “I’m really more disappointed for the sponsors I brought to the team. I have a long history with most of them and have always been able to give them the type of representation they expect. I’m working toward putting together an effort that we can field for the rest of the season to help minimize their loss and maintain our relationships. I’m not sure what we will be able to salvage yet but hope to have an announcement within the next few weeks.” For more information about Team Serpent Racing and the fine companies and people that sponsor the team, visit ~http://www.serpentracing.com~.
