Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jamie Hacking was the fastest rider in AMA Superbike practice Thursday morning on the 4.5-mile road course at Miller Motorsports Park. Riding his Dunlop-shod ZX-10R, Hacking (2:47.169) was just quicker than Rockstar Makita Yoshimura Suzuki’s Mat Mladin (2:47.342) and Ben Spies (2:47.543) and Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates (2:48.005). “We just started where we left off at Infineon,” Hacking told Roadracingworld.com. “We had a good test here, but we chose to ride the Infineon set-up and it was a little bit off. The front fork springs were a little too stiff for us. “That was the first outing we were on the bike. Then the second outing we changed the front fork springs. Definitely, right away the bike was more comfortable. We’re basically trying to find a tire to race on right now. There’s only a couple to choose from, and that’s it. “Our bike runs very well here, and that’s something I’m going to take to my advantage this weekend. Those guys are definitely going to respond, that’s for sure. It’s not going to be easy. We need to do a little homework on the back end of the bike to see if we can’t pick up some drive grip for me, but other than that the bike worked pretty damn good. I was pretty happy with it.” AMA Superbike Championship Presented by Parts Unlimited Miller Motorsports Park Tooele, Utah May 29, 2008 Provisional Practice Times: 1.
