HANNspree Ten Kate Honda Supersport riders Jonathan Rea and Andrew Pitt will participate in the next round of the British Superbike Championship at Donington Park on the 26th of May. While the Superbike team heads to the USA for the new addition on the Superbike Calendar at the Miller Sports Park in Salt Lake City, it would leave the Supersport team with a month long break before their next round in Germany. The chance to do some extra testing at the highly competitive BSB round at Donington is a welcome event that will help the team in finding a competitive race set-up ahead of the WSS round on the same track later this season. Jonathan Rea: “Its really good for me and Andrew to get the chance to test at Donington in the BSB round. I heard there’s already some coverage in the press about the event.” “For me the priority is to make the bike strong for our race there in a couple in September. We can get some good information about the set-up and be on the pace. I hear Craig Jones will also be riding the BSB round, we can push the World Championship pace.” “I am very happy that the team has decided to do this and give us the chance. It was an idea on Friday morning and in the afternoon it was all done and organised. Its good to feel the team playing out all the stocks to get behind Andrew and me for the Donington event.” “It will be nice to race at home again in front of all my old fans and my old rivals. I’m really looking forward to it.” Andrew Pitt: “It’s a chance for us to get some testing in as the WSS doesn’t go to the US round so we wont be on the bike for a while.” “I haven’t been racing on a British track for five years, so it will be interesting to be back there.” “I’m just trying to treat the BSB event as a test. I want to find a good setting for the bike and try and win the WSS race here in September.”
