North Texas Superbikes riders smash more records. Texas World Speedway marked the latest round of Central Motorcycle Road Racing Association races, with North Texas Superbikes and Dunlop supported riders winning 60% of the Expert and Novice sprints and placing in 6 of the top 10 overall 8 hour endurance positions. Endurance: Almost perfect conditions for Saturday’s 8 hour CMRA Endurance Series race allowed Dunlop N-Tec D211 and N-Tec 7 Series slick equipped teams to prosper. Team Mancuso Powersports Racing’s Dane Westby, Dustin Meador, Craig Clark, Paul Wilkinson, and Chris Romeo took the early lead, Westby running 1:45 lap times just seconds off the existing lap record on endurance rubber, followed by previous race winners and overall point leader Moto Ace Racing, and leading for most of the race. Late race misfortune which included a pit stop for Mancuso that knocked them into the second overall position, and first in class, as well as a faulty fuel pump for Moto Ace, bumping them to 7th overall and 3rd in class stopped their runs for the overall victory. Kenner Louisiana’s Rick Bros Racing slotted into the 3rd overall position thanks to the ironman riding of brothers Darrell and Chris Ricks also on Dunlop N-Tec D211’s. Final positions for North Texas Superbikes and Dunlop supported teams were: 2nd Overall, 1st SSAE Team Mancuso Powersports Racing, Dunlop N-Tec D211 3rd Overall, 1st SSCE Ricks Bros Racing, Dunlop N-Tec D211 6th Overall, 2nd SBCE Carey Racing, Dunlop N-Tec 7 Series 7th Overall, 3rd SBCE Moto Ace Racing, Dunlop N-Tec 7 Series 9th Overall, 3rd F1E Double D Express, Dunlop N-Tec D211 10th Overall, 2nd SSAE WFO! Komodo, Dunlop N-Tec D211 Expert Sprints: North Texas Superbikes and Dunlop sponsored Ty Howard, Kevin Pate, and young guns Dustin Dominguez and Dane Westby put on a show to remember, winning 12 of 20 races with Howard and Westby exchanging lap records several times on the newest Dunlop N-Tec tires. Ty Howard won B Superstock, C Superstock, C Superbike*, and then battled hard in probably one of the most exciting CMRA races in several seasons to win F1 on N-Tec 7 Series slicks. Howard and Westby battled the entire race exchanging positions several times per lap, running side by side on the banking and into high speed turn one. Ty smashed Westby’s earlier lap record and set a new mark of 1:41:98, with all of Howard and Westby’s lap times under the old record. During a change from his 600 to the 1000 Ty Howard’s team failed to exchange his transponder giving the win in C Superbike to Dustin Dominguez, and adding to a long list of wins for the youngster from Oklahoma. Dominguez winning B Superbike, C Superbike, D Superbike, Formula 2, D Superstock, and finishing 2nd in B Superstock and C Superstock. Dunlop N-Tec 7 Series slick mounted Kevin Pate added to his podiums, winning A Superbike by two thousandths of a second over North Texas Superbikes rookie expert Ricky Jordan also on 7 Series slicks.
