V8 Supercars’ newest winner Will Davison has been appointed an official Ambassador for Suzuki Motorcycles. Davison, 25, will now carry Suzuki colours on his helmet and driving suit during the 2008 V8 Supercar season, in which he drives for Dick Johnson’s Jim Beam Racing team. Starting only his third full-time season of V8 Supercar racing, Davison is widely regarded as the sport’s next young superstar, and last month took his breakthrough race and round win in the most-recent round of the series at Eastern Creek Raceway. “Suzuki is delighted to welcome Will on board and we’re excited about what he can contribute to the Suzuki brand,” said Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia. “Will has a constantly-growing profile and has had a brilliant start to the year, so we will benefit from our corporate colours and logo appearing on his helmet and driving suit. “He’ll also be a regular at our industry events and activities … he’s very personable, professional and his potential in V8 Supercars is there for everyone to see.” Davison – who recently picked up an all-new Suzuki RM-Z450 and will shortly take delivery of a new GSX-R750 sports bike – is of course delighted with his association with Suzuki Motorcycles. “What a great brand to be representing,” he said. “Suzuki’s motorcycles are world leaders in technology and performance; they’re great to ride; and the people have a real passion for their product. I am really looking forward to working with them. “I can’t wait to spend some time riding the new Suzuki RM-Z450 which will play a role in my training, and from what I have seen, the GSX-R750 will be an awesome machine too.” Davison’s first event as Suzuki Motorcycles’ newest ambassador will be next weekend’s third round of the V8 Supercar Championship in Hamilton, New Zealand.
