Shaw Still Holds All-time Daytona 200 Mileage Record, Orlando Moves Up

SHAW RETAINS DAYTONA 200 MILEAGE LEAD 1. Rick Shaw did not compete in the 2008 race, but remains the Daytona 200 career mileage leader with 3,728 miles logged.

2. John Ashmead remains 2nd. He only completed 46 miles this year and now has 3,490.

3. Ricky Orlando moved up to 3rd and now has 3,334.

4. Miguel Duhamel’s disqualification resulted in him only getting credit this year for 2.9 miles. He remains in 7th place, now with 2,448 miles.

5. Larry Pegram now has 2,323 miles and moved to 11th overall. He is only 3 miles short of jumping to 9th place.

6. Anthony Fania now has 1,812 and moved to 25th. He is now less than 200 miles out of 20th place.

7. Dean Mizdal now has 1,774 and moved to 26th.

The complete list of mileage and other records will be updated for the 3rd edition of “The Daytona 200. The History of America’s Premier Motorcycle Race,” by Don Emde. It is scheduled for release in early 2009.
