Fans Can Attend The Upcoming AMA Superbike Test At Infineon Raceway For Free

From a press release issued by Infineon Raceway: AMA Motorcycle Fans Invited to Two-Wheel Thunder at Infineon Raceway SONOMA, Calif. (March 12, 2008) “” Motorcycle madness takes over Infineon Raceway during a four-day stretch as race fans are invited to the 3rd annual Two-Wheel Thunder, March 31-April 3. The four-day bonanza is headlined, April 1-2, when the top manufacturers from the AMA Superbike Series are expected to visit the track for testing, including Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda. Top riders, including defending Sonoma champion Mat Mladin, are expected to traverse the twists and turns, attempting to gather valuable information for their return trip, May 16-18, for the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts. There will also be a charitable fund-raiser on Monday, March 31, with a 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days event, and festivities conclude on Thursday, April 3, with a 600 Supersport Comparison Test on the serpentine circuit. All the top manufacturers are expected to showcase their Supersport machines in this high-profile comparison test, which is hosted by Cycle News and MotorcycleUSA.com. Race fans are invited out FREE each day, but they should target Tuesday, April 1, as the main day when top AMA teams take to the track for testing, which is hosted by Yamaha. Gates open at 9 a.m. on April 1 and admission is FREE. Fans will be able to watch testing from the grandstand, as well as wander around the paddock, just steps away from their favorite riders. Other elements planned for the day include: · Supermoto USA: Up to 50 riders will take part in a Supermoto USA exhibition which will be held behind the main grandstand in the paddock on a temporary course at 9 a.m. Supermoto will return for three days of action at the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, May 16-18. · SBFreaks Street Freestyle: Riders will be on-hand for a street freestyle demonstration on April 1 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Riders will perform a variety of tricks on their 400- and- 500-pound street bikes. They will return for the big weekend in May, as well, competing on the Turn 10 island. The freestyle is hosted by SBFreaks. · Fan Forum: Select AMA riders will participate in a Fan Forum in the Wine Country Winner’s Circle during the lunch break on April 1. It’s your chance to ask questions of your favorite riders. · AMA Ticket Offers: Special ticket offers will be made available for the upcoming Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown in May. The charitable event on Monday, March 31, will feature an open motorcycle track day over the twisting road course, sumptuous lunch, T-shirt and raffle, with all proceeds benefiting needy youth organizations in Sonoma County and the AFM Air Fence Fund.
