Aprilia is planning to take the newly introduced RSV 4 into AMA Superbike racing in 2010. That’s the word from Jeff Perlman of Brandware Public Relations, the company that handles Aprilia’s North American PR. In an e-mail accompanying an Aprilia press release announcing introduction of the RSV 4 at the annual Piaggio Group Convention in Milan (Piaggo owning Aprilia), Perlman wrote, “A street version is expected to be introduced in the United States next year, with AMA Superbike racing planned for 2010. Four cylinders, 1000cc, power of well over 200 HP in the race version, the new bike due to make its road debut by the end of 2008 will mark Aprilia’s return to the World Superbike Championship in the 2009 season.
